Chimpanzee Trekking in Budongo Forest
Budongo Forest, part of the Murchison Falls Conservation Area in Uganda, is one of the best places to track wild chimpanzees. Eshande Safari offers guided chimp tracking experiences here, led by experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers. The activity typically starts in the morning and lasts 2–4 hours, depending on the chimps' location. You'll walk through dense forest, listening for calls and spotting other wildlife too.

🎒 What to Bring

- Sturdy hiking shoes/boots – trails can be muddy and uneven

- Long-sleeved shirt & long pants – for protection from insects and plants

- Rain jacket or poncho – the forest is often wet

- Insect repellent – tsetse flies and mosquitoes are common

- Drinking water & snacks – keep hydrated during the hike

- Binoculars – for spotting other forest wildlife

- Camera (no flash) – to capture the experience

- Hat & sunscreen – if it's a sunny day
